We're developing a breakthrough technology with the potential to revolutionize robotics.

Come work with us

We operate at the intersection of electronics materials, surface chemistry, fluid physics, and microsystems engineering. Our team is small, technically deep, and hands‑on. We build real hardware, run real experiments, and push systems to failure to understand how to make them robust at scale.

We value rigor, curiosity, and people who like building real things. If you enjoy turning complex, coupled physical systems into robust products, we’d love to talk.

Foundry Interface Engineer

Sangtera is building a new class of precision actuators based on microhydraulic and electrowetting technologies, enabling high-force, high-bandwidth, and fine-position control for next-generation robotics. We’re looking for a Foundry Interface Engineer to help translate this technology into scalable manufacturing by working directly with leading panel and semiconductor foundries in Asia.

This is a deeply technical, hands-on role at the intersection of device physics and production. You will own process integration, debug fabrication challenges on-site, and drive iteration between our internal engineering teams and external foundry partners. If you have experience in MEMS, semiconductor, or panel process integration—and want to help bring a fundamentally new actuator technology into production—we’d love to talk.

Manufacturing Engineer – Precision Tooling & Automation

Sangtera is developing a new class of microhydraulic actuators for precision robotics and semiconductor-scale assembly systems. Our technology combines MEMS-scale structures with precision mechanical systems to produce extremely compact, high-force actuators. As our technology transitions from research prototypes toward manufacturing, we are building the tools, fixtures, and automated processes required to assemble miniature precision devices reliably and at scale.

We are seeking a Manufacturing Engineer – Precision Tooling & Automation to develop the tooling, fixtures, and assembly processes that will enable production of Sangtera's miniature actuator platform.

Reporting to the Director of Manufacturing Engineering, you will design, build, and validate the equipment used to manufacture our products—from precision assembly fixtures and custom tooling to semi-automated manufacturing equipment. This is a highly hands-on engineering role involving rapid prototyping, machine building, mechanical design, and continuous experimentation in the lab.

You will work closely with the technical team to transform laboratory assembly methods into robust, scalable manufacturing processes. As our products and manufacturing techniques evolve, you will continuously improve ease of use, reduce cycle time, increase yield, and enable high volume production.
You will create and maintain accurate bills of materials, equipment master sheets, and CAD models for inhouse fixtures and off-the shelf equipment.  You will generate and update process, training, and preventive maintenance documentation associated with tools and fixtures.

This is a hand-on, full-time in person position, based in Lowell, MA.

Key responsibilities:

  • Perform assembly and testing activities per established protocols
  • Support process and reliability improvement activities through standard and non-standard assembly and testing
  • Help set up processing stations
  • Maintain production area and equipment

Requirements:

  • Trade school or equivalent work experience
  • Experience working in a clean room highly preferred
  • Strong communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills
  • Fine motor skills – manual assembly of small parts
  • Attention to detail
  • Physical stamina – ability to stand or sit for long periods.
  • Good hand-eye coordination
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision a plus
